Please join hands and hearts in helping our dear friend and humanitarian, Pemba Sherpa, rebuild the lives of families in his village of Sengma in the Khumbu Region of Nepal. Pemba’s village of Sengma sits in the shadow of Mt. Everest in Eastern Nepal. Over 500 families live there, most lost their homes, roads, and community in the recent earthquake. Pemba’s family and friends are among those impacted and are depending on him to help them through this difficult time. While there are thousands of dollars going to Nepal, very few funds will reach remote communities such as Sengma.
River Bend in Lyons has graciously volunteered to host a fundraiser and help Pemba reach his goal of $200,000 to rebuild a minimum of 200 homes in Sengma.
**Please join us for dinner and chai donated by Sherpa’s Restaurant with a suggested donation of $40 (minimum).
**Pemba will personally speak about his village and plans to rebuild in late June before winter arrives
**Live music to accompany the evening event
**If you are not able to attend, please consider a direct donation by visiting: http://www.youcaring.com/boulderpemba.
Beverages ~ This farm dinner is also a benefit for Growing Gardens.
Growing Gardens will be selling wine and beer at the dinner for their organization. There will be a wonderful selection to complement the menu. Please do not bring your own wine or beer ~ you can plan on buying it here by the bottle or glass.
