We love our animals at the Farmette and constantly have to resist the urge to get more - someday, someday. We currently have a flock of about 30 hens, some endearlingly old, others in their egg-producing prime. During the summer, we will produce about 75 broiler birds in our "chicken tractor". We also have 6 alpacas, one beautiful, lovable goat named Waylon, and 1 magnificent llama, Cuzco. We have our animals' fiber spun into gorgeous soft blended yarn and have boiled it to make felted items as well. Our animals provide protein and fiber as well as soil nutrients, but we love them just because they're adorable, too. We hold an annual Wool Day to help budding spinners and knitters get close to the source of their craft.
