A mobile altar box is a compact, portable container designed to hold sacred items, statues, crystals, and tarot cards.
This Dia de Los Muertos following Halloween, you are invited to slow into time. As the light shifts through this rare 3-hour window, come claim it. Behold yourselves to create something you can keep by your bedside, hearth or to accompany you on your journey in a suitcase. A mobile altar to adorn and keep even temporary spaces sacred.
During this workshop, we will create mobile altar boxes to honor the most precious Ones, as well as parts of ourselves we hold with care. In both love and grief, beholding Ancestors and beloved animals…
All collage materials, boxes, clay, and candles will be provided as well as an opportunity to write a scrolled intention.
Oracle decks will be available as tools as will custom typewriter poems, if you choose to pursue that experience.
Please bring any favorite images and poetry you’d like to incorporate.
Tea and light snacks will be available.
About the Instructor:
Erin is a collector of awe. Noticing how trinkets and heirlooms can make a house a home, or what it took a piece of driftwood and sea glass to become.
Based in Lyons Colorado, Erin is a writer and artist and has a mosaic perspective that grew her from raising a neurodiverse human and a dynamic preteen.
The shapeshifting of Loss and grief have been alchemized through things like art/writing. Erin enjoys creating with clay in an all abilities class, and busking poetry on her typewriter at different events, ceremonies and concerts. It is the ultimate study in echolocation and the “humaning” experience.
